What the people say:

"It tells the American

story in a style which is

non-confrontational but

rather points to the good

qualities of the American

a positive outlook for

Welcome to Dave Revels & Stand Up America

Welcome to the latest on Dave Revels and his Stand Up America activities. For the past 30 years Dave has performed with various artists from the legendary Drifters, to calpyso greats The Mighty Sparrow, Arrow and presently the kings of a capella, The Persuasions. In addition to his touring, recording, arranging and producing, Dave wrote a song which has been called by many across the nation, "a contemporary American anthem." Inspired to a great degree by the terrorist attack on America on September 11, 2001, and since its first public performance in the late fall of 2001, the song has garnerd a powerful grass roots movement from the east coast to the west coast of the United States. It has also become a part of many school actvities as many educators and students have embraced its message of peace and unity amongst all the people of the world. Educators, always seeking out opportunities to meld the ever growing racial and cultural diversity of their student body, have found the song to be a beneficial tool toward that goal.

Dave has also been a great supporter of the men and women of the armed forces and their families by performing free concerts to remind everyone of the tremendous sacrifice our troops and their families are making on a daily basis. For the past several years Dave has worked with the New York Mets in a joint effort to salute our soldiers with on field tributes. In 2007 Dave performed his song with over 200 elementary to High school students from public, private and Yeshiva schools in a show of unity. In 2009 Dave was asked by the New York Mets to take part in the coordination of their opening day ceremony honoring our service men and women. Dave enlisted the aid of the Wounded Warrior project's Tony Ntellas to bring together 24 veterans from WW11 to present day Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans.

The logo which appears at right was created by Dave Revels. The Red, represents the innocent lives lost on the morning of September 11, 2001. The three White stars represent The World Trade Center, The Pentagon and United flight 93. The Blue field represents the clear blue sky of that fateful morning which promised anything than the violence of the day to come. It was created as a reminder of the  senseless loss of lives with the hope that it will inspire us all to seek out ways of uniting as a nation, reach out to those in need, and build bridges of humanity wherever and whenever they are needed.

Dave at the Curlew Creek Elementary school in Florida during an in classroom question and answer session on Stand Up America's lyrics and what the song means to them. Discussion took place after the school's Unity Day rally where 650 of the school's children performed the song. They were backed up by the H.S. band.
